Join us for a day of instruction for an introduction to climbing anchors. Learn the skills necessary to build anchors safely for top rope climbing outside! The weather is here and it is time to be outdoors enjoying the incredible world of technical rock climbing. During this small covid friendly course we will be covering the following: Outdoor Etiquette & Ethics Keep all of your gear together and intact Equipment and Techniques Review equipment (Dynamic Ropes, Static Ropes, 2 inch webbing, sewn slings, locking carabiners) Knots - Bowline, BHK, figure eight on a bight, Double Fisherman (Grapevine), Flat Overhand, Water Knot Hitches - Munter, Clove Pre-equalized anchors versus self equalizing anchors Closing the system Techniques - using a tag-line, Master point, Sliding X, Anchoring into the system Top and Bottom
