Overview

Join us for a memorable hiking trip and experience some of the best hikes of the Dolomites! The Dolomites are located in South Tyrol, a region located between Austria and Switzerland in the country of Italy, with a delightful blend of Austrian and Italian cultures, food, and wine. We will be staying in the special alpine village of Ortisei in Val Gardena and will take daily hikes across sunny slopes, through peaceful forests, and up to the breezy heights of mountain plateaus. Our hikes will be at a moderate pace so that we can take pictures and enjoy the friendly conversation of fellow AMC travelers. We will stop along the way for hearty lunches at one of the many alpine mountain huts. Throughout our time together we will endeavor to enjoy and understand this wonderful region via the AMC's mission of education, conservation, and appreciation of the natural world. Karen is a member of the NH Chapter and has led trips for over 20 years for the AMC. She is certified by Wilderness Medical Associates International in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. She is a past Chair of the AMC's NH Chapter and currently serves as Chair of AMC's Adventure Travel. Karen has led multiple trips to Europe and enjoys sharing good times and great adventures with fellow club members.

Ann Boland is a four-season hike leader with the AMC-NH chapter. She is an instructor for the chapter's Winter Hiking Series and Cardigan School and a hike leader at AMC's August Camp. She is an avid hiker and has summited the NH48 in each of the four seasons, and the NE67. Ann also enjoys hiking outside of New England and has organized personal trekking trips to Switzerland, Italy, New Zealand, and Nepal, as well as to several national parks in the United States. Ann is WFA and CPR certified.
