Instruction in general Hiking and Mountain Safety, clothing, equipment, nutrition, risk management and trip planning. Includes introduction to mountain hiking and map and compass. Intended for individuals with limited hiking experience who would like to start mountain activities safely. Anticipate hiking as much as three miles at a slow pace with occasional uphill grades. Workshop will begin promptly at 7:30pm on Friday evening, ending Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:30pm. Cost is $290/members, $310/non-members, and includes lodging, excellent meals, materials, and instruction. Must be 18 years or older to attend.
