Join us for a classic 3 day Presidential Traverse summiting Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Washington, Monroe, Eisenhower, Pierce and Jackson. Using the Madison and Lakes of the Clouds huts, we will average 1.5 mph and our group hikes together and stays together. We will begin day one with a car spot at the Highland Center and a car ride to Appalacia where we will take Valley Way to Mt Madison. After descending Madison, we will visit Star Lake and summit Mt Adams. Dinner and overnight at the hut. Day two begins with breakfast then following Gulfside to Loop, we summit Mt Jefferson. Taking Castle Trail back to Gulfside, we summit Mt Washington. We descend to the Crawford Path which will bring us to the hut for dinner and overnight. Day three begins with breakfast and back on Crawford Path to summit Mt Monroe, Mt Eisenhower and Mt Pierce. Webster Cliff Trail will bring us to the summit of Mt Jackson and we descend from there back to the Highland Center. The cost of this trip is $319 paid directly to the AMC with a confirmation code once screened by the Leader. You are responsible for lunches and trail snacks. Our group size is limited to 8 people which includes 2 leaders. We cancel or change plans for severe weather. This traverse is difficult Recent 4-5k experience is required .We will cover over 20 miles with 8000+ elevation gain.
