If you have not been to AMC's Cold River Camp in Evans Notch, you should make it a priority this fall. Mark your calendars for Sept. 20-22, 2024. Over 55 weekends are becoming a wonderful AMC tradition, as this marks the fourth annual year. What to expect: The camp consists of wonderful rustic cabins, sleeping anywhere from 1-6 individuals. Each cabin will have beds, blankets, and pillows, but you would need to bring either sleeping bags or sheets and towels. There is a main bathhouse with hot water and showers. In the middle of the camp site there is the main building with a large lounge area, dining room and kitchen. Over the weekend we will be served dinner and breakfast and trail lunches. There are many hiking options in the area. We will plan on volunteer leader-led hikes on Saturday and shorter hikes on Sunday (Some hikes may include 52 WAV). Some folks may want to organize their own hikes which is an option as well. Others may just want to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting, play games, and read. Saturday night we will have lively musical entertainment. Come ready to see old friends and meet new ones. Even though the weekend is posted as age 55+, all ages > 18 are welcomed.
