This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Spring Hiking Program (SHP) and is only open to enrolled participants of that program. Join us on a spring hike to the Belknaps, a mountain range in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. We'll take in up to three summits, traverse beautiful alpine meadows, and enjoy fantastic views of Lake Winnipesaukee, Mt. Washington and the Ossipee and Sandwich ranges (weather permitting) on a loop hike over Mt. Rowe, Gunstock Mountain, and possibly Belknap Mountain. Plan to hike up to 8 miles with approximately 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Estimated hiking time for this trip, depending on the group and conditions, is up to 6 hours. You may be a good fit for a "Moderate" trip if you are participating in trips that gradually increase in difficulty level, distance, and elevation gain, including at least one SHP trip rated as "Easy" (or an equivalent outside of the program). To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
