Overview

This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Spring Hiking Program (SHP) and is only open to enrolled participants of that program. Join us on a spring hike to Mount Tecumseh, a 4000-footer in the Waterville Valley. This out-and-back hike will cover 5 miles and climb 2,300 feet. Our route is entirely in the trees, with a brief stop at an overlook with views of Waterville Valley, then onward to the summit with views of the Tripyramids (weather permitting). Plan for a steady climb. Estimated hiking time for this trip, depending on the group and conditions, is up to 5 hours. You may be a good fit for a "Moderate" trip if you are participating in trips that gradually increase in difficulty level, distance, and elevation gain, including at least one SHP trip rated as "Easy" (or an equivalent outside of the program). To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
