Overview

If you are the parent, grandparent or primary caretaker of a wee one, birth to 2 years, you are invited to join an Appalachian Mountain Club, Western MA hike series geared to get you and your little one out on the trail in and around the Connecticut River Valley. Momma Kayla and Nanna Dawne are planning guided, easy stroller or baby backpack hikes in the afternoon on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month beginning on March 25th. This is a way for you and your child to connect with nature and other parents and child caretakers in a safe, inclusive way with trained AMC hike leaders. Once we have an established registered group list we will email you with the specifics about time and location for each bi-weekly Monday hike. Let's get these little tykes out! Please be prepared at the trailhead on the day of the hike for a variety of spring conditions. Dress both you and your child in layers, as it will likely be cool when we start in March. Avoid cotton as it does not retain warmth if damp or wet. Sturdy hiking shoes or sneakers (walkers), a hat, gloves and warm socks are recommended for children and adults. A water bottle and snack for you and your child are also essential. AMC requires all children under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian and that both are on the signed online waiver prior to the hike. Please list the first names of participants and ages of children on the electronic waiver. Inclement weather will cancel these hikes.
