Overview

Join us for a series of hikes on Wednesday evenings. These are great opportunities for anyone looking to get outside on a weeknight, meet other local AMC members and stay fresh for bigger weekend adventures. Hikes are typically under five miles, at a relaxed pace and include a mid-hike snack break. This loop hike will traverse the two westernmost peaks in the Squam range covering 4 miles with 1,300' of total elevation gain. Although it may be the smallest peak in the Squam Range, the ascent and descent of Cotton Mountain can be challenging as it is quite a bit steeper than you may expect! The route offers several nice views of Squam and the NH Lakes region. Prospective participants will need to complete a brief phone call with the leader in order to complete registration. Once registration is confirmed participants will be provided with the time and place to meet. These hikes will occur nearly every week starting in April and run through the summer months. All hikes will be listed on www.outdoors.org about a month in advance, so please check the site regularly as the season goes on. The locations will be throughout the state, with nearly every region hosting at least one. Please register for each hike with its respective leader.
