A 6.7 mile loop hike at a moderate pace from the Undermountain parking lot to Paradise Lane and the AT over the summit of Bear Mt, the highest peak in CT. A difficult hike with rewarding views at the summit for lunch. Meet at 9:15 for a prompt 9:30 start at the Undermountain parking lot on Rte. 41 (Undermountain Road) in Salisbury. DIRECTIONS: Take Rte, 44 West to Salisbury. Take a right on Cobble Road and a right onto Rte. 41. The lot is a couple miles on the left. The first trailhead parking lot on the left where the AT crosses Rte. 41 is NOT the Undermountain lot. If you miss Cobble Road take a sharp right on Rte. 41 at the White Hart Inn in Salisbury. Thunderstorms cancel.
