Registration is required for this activity by emailing the trip leader. Limited to 10 hikers. Anyone who has not previously hiked on trip leader's hikes which required registration should provide information about their prior hiking experience ( including average mileage and terrain) as it relates to this hike. This is an approximately 6 mile in and out hike to the top of Alander Mountain (2231 ft), which has beautiful 360 degree views. There is a mostly gradual climb up with 1,000 foot+ elevation gain, ending in a short steep rocky climb near the summit. There are nice streams, cascades and wood views along the way but the star of the show is the panoramic views from the summit. Lunch at the summit before heading back. If the weather is warm we might start as early as 8:00 am to climb in cooler temps. Please dress in layers, wear hiking boots and carry sufficient water and lunch/ snacks. Meet-up time ( morning) and place will be sent a few days before the hike to registered hikers.
