Families can you spy signs of spring/early summer? Join us for a hike to a Vernal Pool at Noble View Outdoor Center. The hike is rated as an easy, 1.8 mile, out and back route that will bring us to a vernal pool. On the way there we can spy on plants and animals tha have awakened in spring. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch to have at the View following the hike. Requirements: Please be prepared at the trailhead on the day of the hike for the variety of spring conditions we may encounter while hiking, such as rocks, exposed roots and mud. It is essential to have proper footwear (sturdy, waterproof boots are recommended) as well as water and a snack. It is recommended that you bring rain gear, hiking poles. (to be ready for anything) Please dress in layers as it will likely be cool/cold when we start. Avoid cotton as it does not retain warmth once wet. A hat and bug repellent are recommended. AMC requires all children under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a signed waiver. All hikers will be required to have signed the AMC's Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risks & Release Form online prior to the hike. Please list the first names of participants and ages of children on the electronic waiver. Inclement weather will cancel this hike.
