This hike is part of the Spring Hiking Series. First preference for these hikes will be given to those who attended the Spring Workshops on May 11, 2024. If space is available 4 days before each hike, registrations for others will be considered and you will receive a confirming email. An Information Sheet will be sent to all confirmed hikers. We will hike at an easy pace through the southern portion of the state park in Framingham and travel through Welch Reservation, past Eagle Pond and Packard Pond and along Baiting Brook. The trip includes some moderate elevation on trails through the interior forest. We will hike alongside active agricultural land and portions of the BCT. We'll cover about 5-6 miles. Plan to be out for 3-4 hours, depending on the pace of the group (which can vary). Wear sturdy hiking shoes. Be prepared for a possibly muddy, flooded trail. Wear moisture wicking layers and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring the following in your Day Pack: a good lunch/snacks and 1-2 liters of water. Bring hiking poles, a hat, insect spray and sunscreen (if you use these items). Meeting location will be emailed to participants about 2 days prior to the hike. Steady rain/ thunderstorms cancels. No dogs allowed on the hike, thanks for understanding
