Overview

Join us for a Tuesday hike in Mt. Holyoke State Park in the MA Pioneer Valley. This hike boasts stunning summit views from three summits (Mt. Holyoke 940', Mt. Hitchcock 1005', Mt. Bare 1010') and multiple other viewpoints of the surrounding area and CT river, along with the possibility of seeing soaring hawks. After our ridgeline views, we will descend to hike through a mixture of pine and hardwood forests, including a walk along the wooded shores of the Lithia Springs Reservoir. This will be a moderately paced hike with a distance of 11 miles round trip and approximately 2500 feet of elevation gain over rocky and possibly wet terrain. Interested participants should have some experience hiking similar distances and elevation gain. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
