Easy hike/walk along part of the Nehantic Trail on a nice path through pines and deciduous trees with laurel in early summer. Possibly a few wet spots on this in and out mostly flat hike with a few easy hills, and not too many roots and rocks. About 4 miles. Meet in forest at 9:45 for 10:00 start. Directions - from jct. of Rte. 49, 138 & 165 at Town Grill in Voluntown, go east on Rte. 138 about 2 miles. Look for stop sign on right that is for traffic coming out of the forest on Green Fall Rd. Also a brown forest sign. Continue on well-maintained dirt and gravel road to stop sign at T and go right on Fish Rd to small parking 0.2 mile on left or along one side of road. From the south on Rte. 49, take a right U-turn onto Fish Rd (across from white fence and sm. Windmill). Continue to parking on right near blue trail crossing. Optional eats at Town Grill after hike.
