Join AMC Boston Paddlers for an 8-10 mile moderately paced paddle in Little Pleasant Bay, Orleans, MA. The intent of this trip is to explore the islands and ecology, and there will be several beach landings and a stop for lunch. Rain/wind postponement date is Sunday June 23. This trip is for Level 2-3 paddlers who are comfortable in waves and chop and winds up to 15 knots. The itinerary is mostly protected but the trip will be run even in wind conditions up to 15 knots. Wetsuits + windproof top and bottom layers are required for safety as water temperatures are still low. Participants must have completed at least two trips of comparable mileage in maritime conditions in the past 12 months and be capable of wet exit, self rescue, and assisted rescue. You must have a sit-in kayak that is at least 14' in length, has bulkheads or flotation bags, and perimeter deck lines. A Coast Guard approved Type III PFD is required to be worn at all times while we are on the water. Each trip applicant MUST (1) Complete the electronic waiver & registration form for the trip listing on AMC Activities Database; and (2) Complete the Google Docs survey (https://forms.gle/21jhzUeABVpzdoHf6) in order to apply for this trip. If there are 2 or more people in your group, each person must complete a separate response. The leader will review your responses and you will be notified by e-mail of your approval or non-approval for the trip. The leader will send an e-mail to all participants with detailed trip information including meeting time and location a minimum of 36 hours prior to the trip date/time.
