Overview

Join us for a weekend of trail work in the White Mountains of New Hampshire! This two-night stay at AMC's Camp Dodge includes a full day of trail work on Saturday and a half-day on Sunday. This trip is designed for people interested in learning about trail work and bringing back newly gained skills to local chapter opportunities. No trail work experience is required, only a desire to learn trail work techniques and contribute to the restoration of mountain trails. Activities may include brushing, rock step installation, clearing drainages and erosion control and will be tailored to the interests and abilities of the group and will range in difficulty from moderate to strenuous depending on the task. The trail work will involve hiking at least a few miles daily with moderate elevation gain. AMC leaders will instruct and guide the work. Participants should expect to be engaged in trail work for 6-8 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. The cancellation policy for this weekend will be 50% refund for cancellations made between July 5 and July 9 and no refund for cancellations made on July 10 or later. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt-out.
