Join the AMC Boston Climbing Community for an unforgettable Memorial Day Weekend at Acadia National Park! Experience a wide array of rock climbing challenges, from the sea-swept top ropes at Otter Cliffs to the trad routes at Precipice and South Bubble. Beyond climbing, the park offers excellent hiking, biking, kayaking, and sightseeing. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient and fully equipped with appropriate gear and skills tailored to camping and their chosen activities. Climbers must bring all necessary climbing equipment, including climbing helmets (biking or other types of helmets are not permitted for climbing), harnesses, ropes, and personal anchor systems. They must also be able to independently set up anchors and manage climbs. Given the challenging nature of Acadia's terrain, particularly at Otter Cliffs, proficiency in rappelling and belaying from the top is not just recommended but crucial for safety. We've reserved two group campsites from Friday, May 24, to Monday, May 27, allowing participants the flexibility to drive up on Friday-with an option to start climbing that afternoon-and leave at their convenience, though most will depart after lunch on Monday. We will have a carpool spreadsheet to organize rides. The fee includes campsite costs, firewood, and a communal cookout on Saturday (with a backup option for Sunday). All participants must register online and sign the AMC's electronic liability waiver.
