Cedar Mesa,
Other U.S.,
UT
The less visited remote canyons in Southeast Utah are magical, with stunning landscapes. They contain ancient rock art, Ancestral Puebloan ruins, and so much more. Come with us as we explore beautiful red rock country. We will be in the heart of Cedar Mesa, and the Bears Ears National Monument. From our base in Bluff, Utah (established by Ancestral Puebloans about 650 A.D), we will take daily excursions to hike deep into remote canyons to see rarely visited ruins, and marvel at thousand-year-old pictographs. We will visit and tour Monument Valley with a Navajo guide and visit the Acoma Pueblo. We will learn about the Ancestral Puebloans who occupied these lands for thousands of years. We will learn the history, archeology and geology of these special places. Join us on a journey to explore sacred places and deepen our understanding of those who came before us. Both leaders have spent considerable time in these parts and are eager to share their enthusiasm with the participants on this trip.
