Overview

Ever explore Moose Mountains Reservation? Here's a great start! Beauty Ledge and Phoebe's Nable are just two of the features accessible from this 2,744 acre Forest Society reservation, with views east and southeast. This is a 4 mile loop hike with a mix of woods roads and footpaths, visiting the old Burrows Farm along the way. Grades are easy to moderate with some areas of rocky footing, and an elevation gain of 1,034'. We will start early to ensure parking in the small lot on a holiday weekend, and then hike at a relaxed pace. Proper hiking gear and attire is required. May is fickle, so be prepared for cooler temps, a summery day, or both! Sunscreen and especially bug protection, are advised.

Mjo (pronounced "em-joe") is a hiker closing in on her 48 4,000 footers, with only a few left. She is also working on her 52 With-a-View and many lesser known peaks. When not hiking with the AMC, she is found hiking or trail running with her dog and family. While she enjoys "list" peaks, her first love is her local conservation land. She finds hiking with the AMC offers community and mutual appreciation for the outdoors in all seasons and feels strongly that the beauty should be enjoyed by all.
