Overview

Imagine yourself hiking to high mountain passes with spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, alpine lakes, and flower-filled meadows. Blue bird sky days with aquamarine glacier-fed lakes color the landscape in bold hues. Our small group hiking and backpacking trip will explore one of the most scenically stunning areas of North America--Banff and Jasper National Parks with a 3-day/2-night trek on the 28-mile Skyline Trail in Jasper and a 3 day/2 night 25-mile backpack trip in Banff National Park. Of the Skyline's Trail 28-mile length, 16 of those miles are above tree line! Jasper is the world's second largest dark sky preserve. We will enjoy amazing hikes and scenery along the drive on the Icefields Parkway, as well as opportunities for hot springs soaks. Participants must be experienced, group-oriented backpackers who can hike multiple days back-to-back, carrying 30 to 35 lbs. Transport by rental minivans driven by volunteer trip participants. Includes basic accommodations, permits, transport, bear spray, all breakfasts and dinners, permits/entry fees.
