Join us for a 6.3mi day hike of Cannon Mountain (4100ft, and a member of the NH 48 4K list) on Juneteenth (Wed June 19). The trail includes ~2400ft of elevation gain, several stream crossings, some steep ledgy areas, and a ladder. We'll hike at a moderate pace and the hike should require 5-6 hours. Participants should have recent experience hiking similar distances and elevations and appropriate gear for a spring hike in the Whites. Weather allowing, we should get great views of Franconia Notch and Lonesome Lake. The planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified to address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
