Join us for a day hike to the summits of Mt. Whiteface (4,020') and Mt. Passaconaway (4043'), both on the New Hampshire 48 4,000 footers list. We'll plan to hike an approximately 11-mile loop with ~3,800 feet of elevation gain, and will be joined by Pretzel, the hiking hound. Be prepared for a strenuous 8-10 hour hike at a moderate pace, with some steep slabs and rocky scrambles. You should have recent experience hiking similar distances and elevations, and gear appropriate to hiking the Whites in late spring, envisioning the potential for lingering winter conditions. Weather allowing, you will be rewarded with stunning views of NH's Lakes Region. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
