This is a mid-week hike over the summit of Mount Alander in Washington State Forest in South Western, Massachusetts. The distance is approximately 6 miles with an elevation gain of 1,000'. We will hike at a moderate 1.5 to 2.0 mph pace. If we have good weather the views from summit of Mount Alander extend to 3 states. This can be a challenging hike for some because of the distance, a muddy section and a short rock scramble. Preregistration is required. Please dress for the weather. Pack 2 liters of water, trail snacks and a lunch. Sturdy hiking boots are a must.
