Join us for an early Fall hike to the summit of Mt. Wachusett (2006 ft), in Princeton MA. The summit loop will be approximately 4.7 miles, starting at the Echo Lake Trail, 82 Westminster Road, Princeton MA. The route has a total elevation gain of about 1151 feet. The difficulty of this hike is considered moderate and the pace will be moderate (1.5-2 mph). Plan to be on the trail approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on the pace of the group. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and be prepared for the possibly wet and/or muddy trails. Wear moisture wicking layers and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring the following in your Daypack/Backpack: a good lunch and snacks, at least 2 liters of water, and a raincoat/rain gear. Hiking poles are recommended. Also consider a hat, insect repellent, and sunscreen. Remember to bring the 10 essentials and Leave No Trace (LNT) principles will be followed. All participants will be screened prior to acceptance for the hike. Hike information and details will be emailed to participants a few days prior to the hike. Carpooling is encouraged. In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be canceled. You will be notified no later than the Friday before the hike of a cancellation. No dogs allowed on the hike, please. Thanks for understanding. The hike leaders reserve the right to adjust the route if conditions warrant and cannot guarantee the hike will be completed by any specific time.
