Fly to Seattle, WA, stay 4 nights in the hamlet of Marblemount and 4 nights at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center on turquoise Diablo Lake. Explore recreation and wilderness areas in and around remote North Cascades National Park. Hike 5 to 12 miles per day, gaining 1,500' to 3,300', at altitudes 1,200' to 6,900'. See wildflowers and wildlife, old growth forest, glacial lakes, jagged peaks and one panorama after another. Experience the unique terrain and mountain air as we climb to several passes and summits between 5,300' and 6,900'. Hike to scenic Blue (6,254') and Diablo (1,950') lakes. Cross over Cascade (5,392'), Cutthroat (6,800'), Easy (6,500') and Maple (6,650') passes. Summit Hidden Lake Lookout (6,900'), Park Butte (5,450') and Thunder Knob (1,875'). Spend late afternoons at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center. Enjoy educational interpretive exhibits, canoeing, campfires, stargazing and a naturalist hike. We may visit the old west town of Winthrop. 20 of your 29 meals are included in the trip cost. Our last two nights are in Seattle, with a full day to explore the city.
