Join us for a crisp late October hike to the Osceola's in New Hampshire's Scenic Waterville Valley! Mt. Osceola boasts Fantastic views of the surrounding countryside, a beautiful panorama of mountain tops and deep valleys and, given the time of year, leafless trees as the colder shoulder season and winter approaches. Those seeking to participate will have recent and similar experience with hiking in mountainous terrain and have a good personal fitness level as our route will be a whisker shy of 10 miles, and have approximately 3500 feet of elevation gained on moderate to steep, rocky trails. This hike is rated vigorous according to AMC guidelines and we intend to hike at a moderate pace of 1.5-2 miles an hour depending on the terrain. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
