Overview

Please join us as we explore The Arnold Arboretum located in Jamaica Plain (Boston). This Frederick Law Olmsted gem is considered by many to be "The Diamond in The Emerald Necklace"! We will summit the arboretum's three hills, visit the spectacular bonsai exhibit, and wander thru "Explorer's Garden". Our group will meander thru this "Tree Museum" during a 5.5 - six-mile hike at a moderate pace. There will be a number of stops and photo-ops along the way. Bring water, sturdy footwear, snack or lunch. We will meet at 9:45 for a prompt 10:00 am start. The exact meeting point will be sent to those who are registered; 24-48 hours prior to the day of the hike. There's plenty of free on-street parking along both sides of the nearby Arborway; Or, you can walk to the entrance from the Forest Hills Orange-Line MBTA Station. The group will be limited to 15 participants plus the two leaders. Steady rain will cancel the trip. Well behaved dogs on leash will be permitted.
