Overview

Join us for a BIPOC climbing gym night at Boston Bouldering Project in Somerville, MA on Wednesday, December 4 from 6-9PM (our last event of the year!). This event is specifically for climbers who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color to come together, meet new people, and build community in a safe, accessible, and welcoming space. Climbers of all ability and experience level are able to attend this meetup, even if you have never climbed before! The cost is free for Boston Bouldering Project members (and guests of BBP members). Please indicate below if you have a guest pass to share or are looking for a guest pass to use. BBP also offers $22 discounted day pass for this event (including shoes and harness rental). Please register via ActDB to hold your spot and sign the AMC waiver. We will also request that you provide your contact information and level of climbing experience/ interest so we can coordinate the event with the gym: https://tinyurl.com/CRGAMCBIPOCGYMNIGHT. Boston Bouldering Project has designated parking lot located at 30 Dane Street, Somerville, MA. Metered street parking is also available. Please note parking spots are limited and parking violations are heavily ticketed in this area of Somerville. BBP is also accessible via Red Line (Porter Sq), Green Line (Union Sq) and offers both indoor and outdoor bike racks. If you would like to offer a spot in your car or fill a spot in a car pool, please also indicate this on the Google spreadsheet linked above via TinyURL and/or contact the gym night leader directly to help coordinate if needed!

Maya Jade is an outdoor enthusiast who loves all things nature. She graduated from the AMC Rock Program Spring 2023 and AMC Weekend Leadership Training Fall 2023 and has since been organizing gym nights, crag days, and climbing related events to increase access and knowledge across all climbers, esp women/ non-binary and BIPOC climbers.
