Overview

We are looking for someone to fill the role of chapter chair for the Narragansett chapter. The chair serves a term of 2 years, after which the chapter chair then becomes the "past chair." The chair has a number of responsibilities in the chapter including the following: - provide agendas and run monthly meetings - communicate with the executive committee - Attend annual AMC events such as AMC summit, and specific Narragansett chapter events (Spring Fling, Annual meeting) - facilitate communication between the Executive committee and Volunteer Relations Staff or Regional Director if necessary - represent the chapter at Chapters committee meetings, or delegate if necessary Preferred qualifications or skills: - Must be a member of the AMC and an active chapter member - Must be a good communicator - Must be able to delegate work - Must be available to reply to emails and communications in a timely manner - Have proficiency in computer skills for document preparation and Google drive organization Resources and training: - The chair is supported by the Volunteer Relations Department, Regional Directors, the Chapters Committee, and members of the Executive Committee - The incoming chair is mentored by the outgoing chair (the "past chair") and the past chair is available to assist with questions for a duration of 2 years - Training and resources are available on outdoors.org If interested in this role, please reach out to current chapter chair, Catherine LiVolsi at [email protected] for more information
