Overview

Avoid the list peaks on an October Saturday, while still getting excellent views! This is a great 5.9 mile loop hike with 1,960' of elevation gain, hitting multiple small but beautiful viewpoints on Mt. Crescent and Mt. Randolph. We will take a counterclockwise loop route up the Mt. Crescent Trail to the South and North Lookouts, then take the Crescent Ridge Trail over to Mt. Randolph, stopping by the Lafayette View, Randolph Summit, and ultimately Lookout Ledge. This loop combines mostly moderate grades with some steep sections and short scrambles on the climb up Mt. Crescent and down Mt. Randolph, and easier footing and grades along the Crescent Ridge. At the end, there is a short road walk to the parking lot. It's October in the White Mountains so be prepared with layers for both warmer and cooler temperatures, and rain gear. We will hike at a relaxed to moderate pace.
