If you enjoy skiing the backcountry nordic trails around Pinkham Notch such as Connie's Way and Avalanche Brook Ski Trail and if you would like to participate in the maintenance of these trails, here's your chance. Every fall we brush out these ski trails and clear away trees that have fallen across them. You may use your own tools--pruning shears for cutting back overgrown brush and hand saws for cutting up fallen trees--or use tools that we provide. This weekend we will work on the southern part of Avalanche Brook ski trail. Other weekends we will work on Connie's Way ski trail (10/5-6), and the northern part of Avalanche Brook ski trail (9/21-22). Barring bad weather, we will be working these weekends. We may, however, work on a different trail than scheduled based on developing circumstances. All the ski trails start at, or may be reached by a short walk from, the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center.
