Join us for a very popular trip to the Gunks in NY! Pairings will be made for Saturday and Sunday but folks are invited to go up Thursday night if interested. We provide lodging at a camp/conference center at your cost of $125.00 but folks are welcome to stay on their own if they prefer. There is a meal option for an additional $25 or prepare your own. Your level of participation as a lead climber or second is subject to the determination by the trip leader of your possession of the requisite skills and experience. All participants must have experience in multipitch traditional outdoor climbing. Participants must be able to belay a lead climber, rappel, and ascend a rope. This experience can be obtained by taking the AMC RI, CT or Boston outdoor classes. Trip size may be limited due to available trad leader participation and the leader-to-second ratio. Gear: helmet, harness, shoes (climbing and for the approach/descent), belay/rappel device, personal anchor system, cleaning (nut) tool, two prusiks, three locking carabiners, headlamp, rope, rain jacket, water, lunch. Cancellations: We run this trip rain or shine. Payment for the trip will be due in full no later than Monday 9/23. No refunds will be issued for cancellations due to weather or otherwise after this date except in the case of emergencies as determined by the trip leader/Co-leader. If the weather does not permit climbing we will head out to go hiking or pursue other opportunities to enjoy each other's company.
