Expand your hiking skills and outlook on winter by attending the Worcester Chapter's Winter Hiking Workshop. This workshop will provide information on hike preparation, hydration, nutrition, proper gear/equipment, and more for winter hiking. The workshop will be followed by a graduated series of hikes from December to February. Priority for participation in this hiking series will be given to workshop participants. Winter hiking leaders will be available to demo/discuss gear for local and above treeline hiking. The workshop will be held at the Trout Brook Lodge and Pavilion, 320 Manning Street, Holden, MA. Dependent on the weather, this will be both an inside and outside event. PLEASE DRESS ACCORDINGLY/BRING LAYERS FOR OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES. Workshop fee: $15 for AMC members; $20 for non-members. (non-refundable) AMC membership number and expiration date are required with registration. *** ALSO, Join us for a short afternoon hike on the beautiful trails of Trout Brook Recreation Area after the workshop! We will go for a moderately-paced, 2-3 mile hike over easy to moderate (rolling hills) terrain. Expect to be on the trail for around two hours. Please dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Close-toed hiking shoes with laces are required. Bring snacks and water.
