This is a circular hike about 4-5 miles on the scenic 3-mile Walcott Trail round Burr Pond, the Peninsular Trail and some of the John Muir Trail. There will be ups and downs but nothing major. Bring water and snacks. Meet at 9:15am for a 9:30am start. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS HIKE WITH THE LEADER. Directions: To Burr Pond State Park take exit 46 off Rte. 8. Head west on Pinewoods Rd, then left at the light onto Old Winsted Rd. At the next light turn right onto Burr Mt. Rd. The park entrance is at the top of the hill on the left. Turn into the park, pass the brown kiosk and the parking lot is on the left about a 1/2 mile from the entrance.
