In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.

Overview

Spend 3 days exploring the Lake George Wild Forest. This area has a mix of mountains, ponds, pleasant forests and the scenic shoreline of Lake George. We'll utilize a backcountry base camp and go hiking w/day packs. Limited to 6 participants. Strong beginners with recent day hiking and backpacking experience are encouraged to register. We plan to camp Thursday night October 31, 2024 near the trailhead at Shelving Rock Road so the group can start hiking at 8:30 AM Friday morning. November 1, 2024 Otherwise you may drive up early Friday morning to join us at the trailhead. Day hike mileage: Day #1 hike 4 miles to basecamp. The day hike 7.5 miles to the shores of Lake George and back to camp. Day #2 hike 11 miles over Black Mtn and explore picturesque ponds. Then return to camp. Day #3 hike 5.5 miles out over Sleeping Beauty Mtn to end the trip. Please preregister using the "Register Now" button. This will take you to the NY-NJ chapter listing where you can register by again clicking the "Register Now" button. Don't hesitate to sign up for a trip that is wait listed. We usually get cancellations. Because it will be hunting season, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST wear a solid or patterned Fluorescent orange or yellow hat, vest, or jacket
