Hike the AT and surrounding trails on this DV classic outing. We will start our day at Lehigh Gap Nature Center and ascend to the top of the ridge via the center's trail system and the old and new Appalachian trail. We'll have the OPTION to venture onto the extremely rocky South Trail. The South trail is one mile of scrambling rocks with epic views. Otherwise, we'll stay on the gentle grade of the AT on the ridge. Total mileage is 8.5 with an elevation gain of 1500 feet. The pace will be moderate, but this overall is a strenuous day up and over the ridge. Hikers should be prepared for a long and steady climb in the morning. Bring lunch, snacks, and water. Wear BLAZE ORANGE so we can highly be visible to hunters. Meet time 9:00 AM.
