Overview

Instruction offered in winter travel on steep terrain and above treeline. Topics covered include snowshoeing on mountain terrain, use of crampons, dressing for extreme weather conditions, off-trail navigation, and risk management. Intended for individuals with current outdoor winter experience interested in climbing NE mountains safely. Anticipate hiking 6+ miles at a moderate/fast pace, over steep terrain, and with significant exposure to wind. Workshop will begin promptly at 6:00pm Friday and ends Sunday around 4:00pm. Fee includes lodging, excellent meals, materials, and instruction. You must be 18+ to attend. For more info please contact Director Rick Silverberg.

Adult: $290 member / $310 non-member
*Two nights at Cardigan lodge, Friday night snack, 2 breakfasts, dinner Saturday night, lunch Sunday, instruction and materials.
