Overview

6 miles connecting Campbell Peaceful Valley, Stoppleworth Preserve and Knofla Preserve. Beautiful Tolland Open Space preserves featuring old mill sites, farmhouse foundation, lovely streams, a beaver pond and bog overview. Mostly flat easy trails but with two moderate hills and one steep climb (with stairs to navigate) to overlooks with nice views. Refreshments afterwards at Willington Pizza for those interested. Meet at 9:45 for prompt 10 am start. DIRECTIONS: GPS - Campbell's Peaceful Valley, Tolland should work. OTHERWISE: From junction of Rtes. 32 and 195 in Willington head west on Rte. 195 for 4 miles to the center of Tolland. From there take Rte. 74 north 0.7 mile then turn right on Burbank Road (NOT Old Burbank) for 0.6 mile then right on Peter Green Road for 1 mile then slight right onto Hunter Road. At 1 mile look for the park entrance -a sharp downhill left turn. Watch carefully because the sign is not obvious from the road. The parking lot is rocky and small so if too many cars show up we will also use the Stoppleworth parking lot which is about a quarter mile north on Hunter Rd.
