New Hampshire, White Mountains,
NH
Join us for an exhilarating winter day hike to the summits of North Twin (4,761 feet) and South Twin (4,902 feet), two prominent peaks located on the northern side of the Pemigewasset Wilderness in the White Mountains. This challenging adventure covers a total distance of 14 miles, with an elevation gain of 3,600 feet, and will take approximately 10 hours on the trail. Expect a long and demanding day, as the terrain is rugged and the conditions can be tough. This strenuous hike will be undertaken at a moderate to slow pace to account for the winter conditions. Participants must be experienced winter hikers in excellent physical condition. Essential winter gear is required, including microspikes, insulated winter hiking boots, proper layering for cold weather, snowshoes for deep snow, and a headlamp for low visibility. Make sure you are fully prepared for the elements and ready for a rewarding yet demanding day in the mountains. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
