Overview

Join us for a November hike to Mt Moosilauke (4802'), the western-most 4000'er of White Mountains. Our hike will take us up to the above treeline summit of Mt Moosilauke with great 360 degree views, weather permitting. We will cover ~7 miles with ~2500 feet of elevation gain at a moderate pace. As it is shoulder season, depending on weather conditions, participants should be ready for and expect the following: - The closure of Ravine Rd (by the time of the hike) may add additional 3 miles to the total distance. - Optional South Peak bagging (also great views!) upon interest may add additional 1 mile. - Participants may be required to have full winter layers, microspikes and appropriate footwear and should be comfortable with cold weather layering during the hike. As it is a vigorous hike, participants should be in good physical condition & with a recent similar hiking experience covering similar distance & elevation gain. - We expect to finish the hike within 6 -7 hrs. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
