Join us for a 3-5 mile (900' elevation) pre-winter training hike on the Wapack Trail to the summit of North Pack Monadnock. We will hike at an easy-to-moderate pace (1.0-1.5 mph) over average-to-strenuous terrain. Depending on group and weather conditions, we may extend the hike an additional 2 miles for a daily total of 5 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain. This is a Track II (Beginner to Intermediate) Winter Hike. Preference is given to Winter Hiking Workshop attendees (Nov 2nd). Proper hiking footwear, snowshoes, and microspikes are required. Please refer to the Track II Gear List provided at the Workshop. This will be a perfect hike to try out new skills learned at the workshop and to test out any new winter gear. Registration is a two part process. Step 1: REGISTER NOW. Step 2: Expect a phone call/email from one of the leaders who will tell you more about the trip and ask some questions to determine whether or not the hike is a good fit for you. You will not be a confirmed participant until after you have spoken with one of the leaders. Severe weather cancels. No dogs, please. More detailed information will be provided once participants are confirmed for the hike.
