Overview

Join us for a hiking adventure to Mt. Eisenhower (4,760'). Experience a fall day hike to one of the Southern Presidential Range's iconic peaks, Mt. Eisenhower, offering 360-degree panoramic views from its fully exposed summit. We'll hike via the historic Crawford Path, the oldest continuously maintained trail in the U.S., for an estimated 9 miles (out-and-back) and an elevation gain of approximately 3,333 feet. Trip Details: This out-and-back hike is approximately 9 miles and 3,333' elevation gain. Due to the time of year, elevation, and exposure, it is considered a moderately challenging route. We will plan to hike at a moderate pace of 1.0-1.5 mph, completing the trip in about eight estimated hours. This hike is moderately challenging due to elevation gain, exposure, and the time of year. Expect stops for delayering/layering and hydration along the way. Given the likelihood of snow and ice, winter hiking gear is required, including Microspikes, trekking poles, and possibly snowshoes (finalized closer to the event). Be prepared with layers, sturdy footwear, and other appropriate gear. Qualifications & Registration: You should have recently hiked similar terrain and distance (up to 7 miles with similar elevation gain). Online registration is required. Everyone is waitlisted until a leader contacts them to discuss whether this trip is a good fit. Qualified participants will receive additional detailed information via email approximately one week before the hike date. This trip offers an excellent opportunity to explore the stunning beauty of the Southern Presidential Range. The trip may be modified for safety if weather conditions or trail challenges arise.
