Overview

Preference is given to Worcester Chapter Winter Hiking Workshop (November 2nd, 2024) attendees. Participants must have some previous winter hiking experience or have participated in Worcester Chapter winter hiking series this season. Mt Pierce, Crawford Notch, NH. This is a moderate winter hike of 6.1 miles round trip with 2330' of elevation gain. To register for other events in this series, look for "NH48 Progressive Winter Hiking Series". Recent winter hiking experience and good physical conditioning is required Participants will be asked about recent hiking experience, equipment and conditioning before acceptance. Full winter Track II gear required. (microspikes, snowshoes, gaiters, balaclava/facemask, winter layers, gloves, hat, shell, etc.). Our group will hike at a moderate pace (ranging from 1.25 - 2 mph) and will be adjusted as needed to keep the group together. Carpooling is encouraged and can be arranged if desired prior to the hike. Participants will receive additional detailed information (including meeting location and time) via email approximately 1 week before the hike date.

Sue has been an AMC member since 2020. She enjoys hiking year-round, 3-season backpacking, working on the 52WAV and has completed the NH48. Past highlights included the Presidential Traverse and Mt. Katahdin. Sue is looking forward to leading in 2024 and meeting hiking enthusiasts.

I'm a 4 season hiking and 3 season backpacking leader for the AMC Worcester Chapter. I enjoy working with other outdoor enthusiasts and helping them reach their goals. Currently serving as the Worcester Chapter Leadership Chair. Certified in WFA and CPR.
