Overview

Track II (moderate to advanced). 4.5-5 miles, average and strenuous terrain, moderate pace (1.5-2mph). This is an instructional hike designed to provide novice winter hikers with the opportunity to hone the necessary skills to hike safely and successfully in winter. Full winter gear required "Track II" (including full crampons). Preference given to the 11/02/24 Winter Workshop attendees. Registration will open 2 weeks prior to the hike for non-workshop attendees. Limited to 8 fit hikers! Once confirmed, carpooling is encouraged and can be arranged in the event's Rideshare board found in the Activities Database. Masks are strongly advised during the ride. Unsafe driving conditions cancels trip.

I am a regular all season hiker who loves sharing my enthusiasm for the outdoors with others. I have hiked all 48 4,000 foot mountains in NH. In addition to hiking, my other outdoor interests include backpacking, kayaking, orienteering, running, and cycling.

Bill is an avid local and upcountry four season hiker and three season backpacker who has summited 40 of the NH48 peaks. Bill is actively pursuing his life-long goal of section hiking the AT, having completed CT, MA, WV and much of NY, NH and VA. When not hiking, Bill enjoys paddling, biking and birding. Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified.
