Overview

Join us for an out and back 4 mile hike to the Crow Hills Ledges. This is a scenic hike along the Mid-State trail into the Leominster State Forest. Along the way, we'll stop at various points including, Redemption Rock, Glacier Boulder and the Crow Hills Ledges. The Ledges are a popular rock climbing location. This is a Track 1 (Beginner to Intermediate) Winter Hike. Preference is given to Winter Hiking Workshop attendees (Nov 4th). Proper hiking footwear, snowshoes, and micro spikes are required. Regardless of snow conditions, we will treat this as a winter hike. We will practice winter hiking skills including microspike and snowshoeing techniques. Please refer to the Track 1 Gear List (see the link below) We will hike at a moderate pace (1.5-2mph). There are multiple steep short sections (elevation gain 1,170'). Hikers must be in good physical condition with recent hiking experience. Pet are not allowed.

I'm a 4 season hiking and 3 season backpacking leader for the AMC Worcester Chapter. I enjoy working with other outdoor enthusiasts and helping them reach their goals. Currently serving as the Worcester Chapter Leadership Chair. Certified in WFA and CPR.

Sue has been an AMC member since 2020. She enjoys hiking year-round, 3-season backpacking, working on the 52WAV and has completed the NH48. Past highlights included the Presidential Traverse and Mt. Katahdin. Sue is looking forward to leading in 2023 and meeting hiking enthusiasts.

Carol is a 4 season hiker and 3 season backpacker. Certified in WFA/CPR, she has been a local leader since 2021 and is working towards up-country and winter leadership. Carol has completed the NH48 and is working on the 52WAV and NE67. She currently serves as the Social Media Chair, Communications Chair and Webmaster for Worcester Chapter.
