Overview

This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Winter Hiking Program (WHP) and is only open to enrolled participants of that program. If you would like more information about the WHP, please email us at [email protected] We will hike up the Kinsman Mountains from Easton at a moderate pace. The hike is about 10 miles round trip, with 3800' of elevation gain over varied terrain. Portions of the route are relatively steep, and others have brief above-tree line exposure. Full winter gear is required for this trip, including snowshoes and light traction (Microspikes). Depending on trail conditions, crampons might be a good choice, but generally aren't required. This is a strenuous hike; participants will be expected to have at least one moderate or vigorous WHP hike or have comparable winter experience. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out. Backup plan is Tecumseh
