We will be taking the Long Path through High Tor State Park and South Mtn County Park. Meeting place is the Gurnee County Park parking area off of Rte 45 in Haverstraw NY.41.1843138, -74.0359684 at 9.00 a.m. There will be views across the wide Hudson River and toward the eastern edge of Harriman State Park from High Tor and Little Tor. The hike will also include the side trail to the remnants of High Tor Vineyard, which, in its day, was one of the nation's most prominent wineries. Total distance will be 6 1/2 miles and have 1400 feet of elevation gain. Unfortunately, a change in the bus route means there is no longer available public transportation for this hike.
