Overview

We will hike up to the summit of Mount Pisgah including stops at the North and South viewpoints which overlook the surrounding valley. The hiking route has a total elevation gain of about 800 ft and includes rocky ups and downs, rock slabs and several stream crossings. We will travel through forest, along a gorge, alongside a stream and past sweeping fields. Hiking poles are recommended. The total trip is 6+ miles. Plan to be out for 4+ hours depending on the pace of the group (which can vary). Wear sturdy hiking shoes. Be prepared for a possibly wet and/or muddy trail. Wear moisture wicking layers and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring the following in your Daypack/Backpack: lunch and snacks, at least 2 liters of water and a rain coat/rain gear. Hiking poles recommended. A hat, mittens/gloves and sunscreen (if you use these items) Microspikes may be required depending on the conditions Hike information and details will be emailed to participants about 2 days prior to the hike. Parking is very limited, carpooling encouraged. Steady rain/ thunderstorms cancels. No dogs allowed on the hike, thanks for understanding The hike leaders reserve the right to adjust the route if conditions warrant and cannot guarantee the hike will be completed by any specific time.
