If you're new to winter hiking, join us for the 2nd of our Beginner Winter Hikes as we hike Mt. Roberts, a 52 With a View located in Moultonborough near Castle in the Clouds. Mt. Roberts is one of the most popular hikes in the Lakes region, offering spectacular views over Lake Winnipesaukee from its open south ridge, which Mt. Roberts Trail traverses. The hike has a distance of approximately 5 miles with elevation gain of about 1,400'. We will be hiking at a moderate pace, and we should complete the trip in around 4-5 hours. This hike has an AMC Activity Rating of Moderate. This hike is open to all that qualify and you do not have to be a member of AMC to participate. On-line registration is required. Attendance in a Winter Hiking Workshop (does not have to be SEMs) or winter hiking experience is also required. Preference will be given to first time winter hikers who attended this year's SEM Winter Hiking Workshop. Full winter gear will be required for this hike. A winter gear list will be provided to those who are confirmed for this hike.
